The worst thing that can happen to a socialist

“I have pointed out that the worst thing that can happen to a socialist is to have his country ruled by socialists who are not his friends.”

So spake Ludwig Von Mises, in Marxism Unmasked: From Delusion to Destruction, Lecture 5

This is solid advice for each and every minority group that believes it is being helped by political activists whose main solution to their minority status is to use the force of the state to grant them privileges and respect which every other group in a truly free society must earn, by the lives they live. Such as:

the quality of their work,
their moral integrity in all business and public dealings,
their contributions to the world around them,
the uprightness and intelligence of their children,
the fidelity they give to spouse, child, community, and country.

These things bring success without empowering a Big Brother who will, once empowered to interfere where he never legitimately has before, will then use the same power to crush those who brought him to power.

Socialists beware! Better hope for true friends in high places - an unlikely possibility for most - or find a different approach to prove your worth to your fellow man. I recommend the latter.
